Yikes no juice!

Well it was a first for me. No electricity at the library. So no class on Wed. 1/14 and no class on Mon 1/19. So after a week we were back to class. It was a wild as always . They had to hold up their cards as their fellow students read out a sentence. They were holding up contractions he's, she's or she is, he is. It became an out of control free for all and we finally shut it down 75 mins. into the class. Then we worked on question scramble and they had to write their answer on the board. (they worked in teams) I am not sure how we got to this answer but here was what one group came up with to the question "Are you married?" No we aren't. We are divorced, single and looking.

Day two and the questions were flowing.

Day two of classes and the questions were flowing. It is fun to work with the lower level of ESL as they are so inquisitive. Once again we were sidetracked by the simplest thing. The word "stir" caused quite the stir. Once we settled on the pronunciation we had to work through using the word in a sentence. This led to when to use the word "can" and "would" and a giant can of worms. Monday we will stay on subject. I'm glad it'll be a new week.(contractions)

Ugh! No I don't speak Spanish.

Well we survived the first night of class. My new group is absolutely fabulous and of course Roger was back from the old group. Hang tight Roger the rest of the old gang will be joining us shortly. The new group had to adjust to the fact that their teacher speaks no Spanish. None what so ever. Not even the numbers. Oh the sin of it. Maybe she shouldn't be so lazy and she should learn a new language. We worked on basic name address and a little fun item about their home land. I believe they had a good time and dare I say actually learned something.

First Day of Class

I can't wait the first day of classes. I am excited about the new group mixing with the old group. Who knows by the end of the semester I might actually know a little Spanish. Well, I am off to class.
